Makenna Schwab – Account Coordinator

Makenna Schwab is a young professional with a passion for creating connections, crafting intentional communication strategies and telling important stories. She has experience with community-based journalism, rhetorically driven speech writing and speaker-oriented speech coaching.

Makenna has a long history of fundraising and non-profit management. In 2011, she started organizing philanthropic projects to give back to Seattle Children’s, where she had been a lifelong patient. After five years, she founded the Makspire Foundation to continue her mission of supporting kids and families walking through serious medical conditions like she and her family did. More than a decade later, she has raised over $1.2 million dollars for organizations like Seattle Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington, Camp Korey and Children’s Miracle Network.

A product of the Public Relations Student Society of America, she is proud to serve as co-chair with Kate Hughes on the PRSA Puget Sound Student Outreach Committee.

Makenna grew up in the Wenatchee Valley but has moved back to the Seattle area after graduating from the University of Washington’s Journalism and Public Interest Communications program – go dawgs! In her free time, Makenna can be found watching almost any kind of sport, spending quality time with her friends and family or curling up with a good book.
